Smart Air Treatment for a Sustainable Factory in Nunspeet
CUSTOMER CASE

For Nestlé’s new factory in Nunspeet, Industrial Air Company delivered an advanced modular air treatment system. The project was full of technical challenges, including a complex lifting operation where the roof was temporarily removed to get the installations inside. Through close coordination with all parties involved, the system was successfully installed and now contributes to an optimal production climate and maximum energy efficiency.
Nestlé wanted to create a state-of-the-art and sustainable production environment where air quality, energy consumption, and noise reduction play a central role. The new air treatment system had to function as efficiently as possible throughout the year, without compromising air purity or operational reliability. Only perfectly purified air was allowed to come into contact with the production process. Nestlé also set high standards for the hygiene and cleanability of the installation, fitting for the food industry. Furthermore, it was important that the installation operates quietly to prevent disturbance to the surrounding area. Finally, the system had to be installed within a very tight schedule, without delays or disruptions to other activities on site.
Industrial Air Company designed and delivered a modular air treatment system that perfectly met Nestlé’s requirements. The system is built with very low air velocities, resulting in efficient operation and less pressure loss. The air is triple-filtered, ensuring that only clean air is supplied to the production process. Inside, the installation is entirely made of stainless steel, ensuring a long lifespan and optimal cleanability. Additionally, the system is equipped with heat recovery, where heat from exhausted air is reused. Sound attenuators ensure that the system is barely audible, even in the immediate vicinity.
The transport and assembly required extreme precision. Due to the size of the installations, part of the roof had to be removed to hoist the air handling units inside. Thanks to detailed preparation, good cooperation with all parties involved, and precise execution, this operation could be carried out flawlessly.
The result is a powerful and future-proof air treatment system that perfectly fits within Nestlé’s sustainability ambitions. The factory now has an installation that provides a stable, clean, and energy-efficient indoor climate. Thanks to the stainless steel construction, the system is easy to clean and resistant to long-term intensive use. The smart heat recovery and low air velocities result in significant savings on energy consumption. Moreover, any noise production is minimized, contributing to a pleasant working environment and a quiet area around the factory.
This is what the project delivered:
- A stable and energy-efficient indoor climate that fully meets the high standards of the food industry.
- Improved air quality thanks to triple filtration and a hygienically designed stainless steel installation.
- Lower energy costs due to low air velocities, smart heat recovery, and efficient system design.
- Minimal environmental impact and future-proofing through sound dampeners and sustainable material choices.
